Charlotte is a rising star in the South, and Ballantyne is a growing multi use area that most reminds me of Tysons Corner VA, about 30 years ago. Located at the intersection of our "beltway" Rt 485 and the north-south artery Johston (Rd (Rt 521) Ballantyne is just about 20 years old. Ballantyne Corporate Park has become home to some of Charlotte's major employers in the region, including MetLife, Liberty Mutual, SPX Corp, Lending Tree, ESPN (Game Day Saturday broadcasts from here!)
Ballantyne Country Club, the Corporate Park, Ballantyne Village Shopping and Ballantyne hotel all sit at the heart of Ballantyne area whic sits in middle of zip code 28277, one of the most searched and higest regarded zip codes in the nation. It is noted for the top schools, easy living and easy commutes to Ballantyne, popular Southpark, the Arrowood area and Uptown.
Ballantyne is a vibrant part of Charlotte's diversified economy, and has share in Charlotte's rapid growth. Over 400,000 new folks moved to Charlotte and many to zip 28277, from New England, the rust belt, but many from Florida and out west too. Did I mention New York? Whit Charlotte's strong financial ties, one of the best plays is to bring that New York City wage to Charlotte, and Ballantyne would be a great place to Relocate yourself! Charlotte is the 2nd fastest city in the nation among larger US cities.
Why? There are many reasons, but here is what businesses say: We have a highly educated and talented workforce, a great airport, and a moderate cost of living.
We move many people in "corporate moves" and "moves of choice." Major companies have relocated their corporate headquarters, or North American operations here- companies like Sealed Air, Electrolux, Metlife. The relocations by choice are generally families fleeing the high cost of living in the north east, the harsh winters of the great lakes and high taxes. It is just easier here to make a living in Charlotte NC and have a little more left over at the end of the month. A transplanted (From Chatham NJ) physician's wife told me that last year.
Those are just the highlights, but having lived here 21 years I would add that I like the spirit here, Charlotte is a pro-business city in a pro-business state and there is a certain "can-do" attitude here absent in many parts of our country. I also appreciate thought and planning that has gone on with growth. Lightrail, Greenways, more bike lanes, Rapid Bus Transit, all lend a hand in keeping Charlotte livable. Charlotte's Uptown area (you call it Downtown) is alive at night and on weekends, and the very hip Southend on the light rail is a craft beer mecca, and recently attracted its first major corporate move Dimensional Fund Advisers. That's huge!
Charlotte real estate, and Ballantyne homes, measured by average price per sq foot are at or very near pre recession levels. Volume is about the level before junk sub-prime financing became popular in 2005. The best homes move on and off the market quickly, with the average of the Top 20 markets, 45% of the homes sold in 30 days or less. (Days on Market)

"Relocating to Charlotte from California, we were unfamiliar with the area. Bobby was more than accommodating when it came to showing us homes in different areas. He made us feel relaxed & was always patient with our energetic little ones! He helped us propose a fair offer on a beautiful home & we are indebted to him for the flexibility & know-how he exhibited through the whole process. We love Bobby!"
